Re: Memorial Garden
Thank you Always. Kevin had been ill for about a year. They had run tests and tests and tests. He had seen numerous doctors. I tried to get them to come to our side of the mountains where we have a mecca of excellent medical care, but you trust your doctors know what they are doing. They never did really diagnose him properly. In the end depression became too much for him to bear. He saw no light at the end and the doctors offered him no hope. He was in terrible pain physically and mentally.
In the end he went out to a beautiful spot on the edge of their farm under a tree and took his life. I tried to tell my son how JKR has struggled with real depression (not just the blues or a bad stretch of life). Her way of demonstrating depression was the horrible life sucking dementors. I think that is a good visual of the reality of depression. In the end his was very bad.
So it comes as a shock, but both his mind and body are now whole and happy. I know he will be watching over his family and taking care of them from the other side of the veil.
Thank you all for being such dear friends and I know you will all understand our pain.

Oh, Missy Potter, I am so sorry. Constant pain and not knowing takes such a toll on a person. I'm so frustrated with you, that they did not come to the UofW or anywhere on this side. To not know why, so hard. Hugs and healing thoughts for you and the family. He is at peace now.

Re: Memorial Garden
Thanks, Karentia. I do believe with proper medical care this could have all been avoided. But it is what it is. My anger part of mourning goes out to his doctors. But we all move on to comfort, forgiveness and peace.

My sweet, beautiful aunt passed away yesterday. No more suffering for her. My uncle will be lost without her. Dementia is a horrible thing. I loved her so much. She will be missed.

Re: Memorial Garden
Thank you for remembering my little guy. Just this time two weeks ago.
He brought a lot of laughs. I miss his snuggles.
And the losses continue with Gene Wilder. A gentle, manic, wonderful genius. Sorry he was plagued by ill health the past few years. Watching The Producers, Blazing Saddles ....my body ached leaving the theater. Saw Saddles at the drive in and we were hanging out side our car doors simply howling.
Heaven's looking better all the time ...

Saw the photos on Facebook. Nice looking dog. I don't understand why pets can't live forever. It's not like they're harming anyone.

Adding a candle in memory of Carrie Fisher. She faced many demons throughout her life, but went out filled with a feisty, unquenched warrior spirit. RIP, Princess Leia.

Re: Memorial Garden

And, sadly, adding a matching candle for Debbie Reynolds, Carrie's Mom.
Walt knew Debbie fairly well through his work on the projected-but-never-realized Hollywood Museum. Debbie also seriously wanted a museum to open and had many, many costumes she had acquired for that. She and Walt would talk on the phone or meet for lunch to talk plans now and then, and had an unwritten agreement that whichever museum could get open first would take the materials from the other so that all would be displayed. Unfortunately neither happened.
RIP, Debbie Reynolds.

Re: Memorial Garden
I remember Miss Reynolds taking about the collection of costumes she had accumulated over the years. So much history.
The TCM end of year salute to those who've passed is taking a heartbreakingly long time this year.
