"Sherlock"
Anybody else watch the new "Sherlock" starring Benedict Cumberbatch as a modernized version of the famous detective? With Martin Freeman as Watson.
I've only started into it with the 3rd season. Apparently Sherlock faked his own humiliation and death in order to uncover a terror plot. Now he's back. Meanwhile Watson has gotten engaged. The second episode, where Sherlock has to make the best man's speech at the wedding, is amazing, both funny and brilliant. Layer upon layer of mystery and craziness.
Now I have to go back and start at the beginning! The game's afoot!

Finally got through season 1, loved the cliff-hanger by the pool! Just ordered S2 on disc.

Re: "Sherlock"
Hi Greatheart. We have been watching Sherlock for a few years now.
Love Benedict and Martin.
I think the creators have done a brilliant job!
However, I am not happy about how dark the plots often are.

Holmes and Watson, or
Bilbo and Smaug? I actually came to this through the back door, saw Hobbit 2 before I picked up on 'Sherlock'. Love the way these guys interact in different settings.
I hear that Cumberbatch's depiction of code-breaker/ computer scientist Alan Turing is very good. Also liked him as 'John Harrison' in Star Trek 2

Watched a bit of this with Mom a few days ago and have to say I'm still not a fan of Mr. Holmes. Being one who is though Mom has decided that she much prefers the old movies and the CBS interpretation called Elementary. She doesn't care for the darkness of this one.

season 2
Finished the first disc of season 2, have to say I enjoyed the first episode more than the 'Hound' one. The ending of episode one surprised me completely!

Sherlock - HP conection
Toby Jones, who plays the new bad guy in Season 4 of Sherlock, is a HP vet - his was the voice of Dobby in the movies.
Haven't watched Episode 2 yet, where he appears. Still reeling from Episode 1!
