Re: Karentia's Corner
Oh, they look so good in the pictures! Look great in person - just can't always tell how the pictures will look!
The top one is all of them together:
2. the gorilla enclosure
3. the giraffe is actually on the back of the lion card - loved the dots & his spots
4. The lions
5. the elephants with a rhino - this was the first one, and is a mini, for the mini tree - actually this & the giraffe one are double papers - the backs were plain, or not what I wanted, so I laminated papers for the perfect set. Used some of what was cut off for the rhino page
6. Giraffe page, with a meerkat in the back, and 2 okapi in the front. Needs more...
7. the last one - just did start to finish, this morning! Was looking for something that would go well with the rhinos & hippos, and found this as a backing to another, brighter paper. I added dimension with foam tape, and the bit of plains I added were cut into multiple widths, so I could also tuck in behind the elephant ear? Love the way it all came together.
This is such a fun way to do ornaments! I will then take fishing line from the corners to a swivel & lead to hang it from - might include something to make a mobile out of them all....
Thank you Weesa!

Re: Karentia's Corner
*doll manekin in top photo, in progress
*mini tree, pretty much done
*manekin with added double trim, glued to the painted candlestick, and the added paper flower on the shoulder
*zebra fan, from Maxie, with beglittered bamboo & black rose, with a bit of added green, and fuzzy ribbon tieing it together
*giraffe 'outline' of cardboard, just the beginning - drunken eifel tower stage
*and now he is mostly painted!
*last two of him finished, in the garage, showing off his lovely "Kardashian" lashes & fuzzy tufts on his horns, with the bamboo that he will have coming out his mouth.
Love him!
This has been a fun tree to explore all kinds of crafting!

Re: Karentia's Corner
Sue's tree is on top - Chocolate Wishes & Godiva Dreams - President's Choice & sold for $1,900.
Donald's tree with closeups - 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' - $1,150.
Mine - 'Wild At Heart' - $850. So the gift certificates helped it from being a $400 tree. There were $600 in certificates, no booze. Make certain there is booze next year.
So this is a variety of closeups throughout the tree. Front, sides, upper & lower. Lots of layers.

Re: Karentia's Corner
These are most of the finished products I did at the retreat in the top & center, the bottom is what I was able to grab for to be done later. A few were already gone, one was too complex to take with, another left before I knew it.
I loved playing with the tile, on top. The Steampunk Ruby Slippers was a fun project - between all the different pens she had for coloring with, to the gears & such to embellish with, fun! The card selection in the middle picture was all kinds of challenging - from something sweet & simple, to layers on layers, and really just took time putting it all together. Amazing what came to play in the projects when just given very specific, but few directions: 1) must have microbeads; 2) rainbow of friends is the theme; 3) must be able to complete in 15 minutes.
There were so many different kinds of tools, embossing machines (that could also cut), embossing powders you could heat, sprays, inks, ink pads, things to cut, boxes to assemble, rub on lettering, punches, assembling 'shaker windows' filled with colored microbeads! On and on! Next year's retreat I will be more prepared for.
I will send along more pictures later, still have more to take too!

Re: Karentia's Corner
Fun stuff from the retreat! Top is my super snuggly sweatshirt with the retreat logo, then a bunch of projects to be done. Next 2 pics are completed cards, and closeups on down the line. It was so fun learning from these ladies! And Skittles everywhere - taste the rainbow! Then there are additional gifts & prizes mixed in with leftover cutout trees & deer, plus stuff I bought in town. The store also gave us an incredible goodie bag each! Easily worth $30 a bag - wowzers! Bags of brads, jewels, bits & bobs, and amazing paper!
What a fun weekend!

Thank you Weesa!
Top picture is all the microbead bags I bought or was given at the retreat. Filled up for quite a while now!
Then you have all the pictures of my altered cigar box, inside & out, including the bottom. There are decorated paper clips & binder clips too. I had fun putting together the cover for the post it pad! Even the pen, wrapping in layers of double stick tape, then paper, then more tape, finally the super fine micro beads - a sugared pen! I picked the same paper to wrap the pen with as the inside of the box. She sent plenty of paper, still have extra leftover - will see later what mischeif I can get up to with that, when I am back to crafting.

Re: Karentia's Corner
Ah, I forgot to come in and caption the photos from Las Vegas!
* Top one is Morgan over coffee at Mon Ami Gabi, we were in the Glass House portion of the restaurant, having brunch - delightful!
* Then three of the carousel animals at Circus Circus' play area upstairs. Finally found the Sea Serpent who inspired the Sea Dragon! These I did not get close enough to to tell if they are fiberglass or wood with high amount of clear coat enamel over them - very shiny.
* Our lunch at the Naughty Vicky - the night name for the pub in the hotel, caesar salad, and Morgan's Pot Pie - the top was a puffy, flaky baked top, then layed over the bowl of filling, and baked for a few more minutes. Odd.
* View out our window onto the pool area - where they had loud music or a live band playing most of the time. I think there was some kind of older rocker event going on at the hotel, there were band members all over the place, had no clue if any were famous, but guitars and scruffy people everywhere.
* And last but not least, the Bellagio fountains! So beautiful! And they do a marvelous job coordinating the water cannon to the music. Amazing.
As soon as I get anywhere along with the new mail boxes I will send something - right now I just have them in progress, and don't feel they are photo worthy - not up for the multiple stages photos, not in this location - too hard to get the lighting good, unless I put them on my bed, on a sunny day... not so good.

Re: Karentia's Corner
Thanks for sharing your trip with us Karentia. Lovely carousal animals. Sounds fun. Some other restaurants do their pot pies like that also, Marie Calendar for one. Beautiful dancing waters.
