Just emailed you, Weesa.  Busy for sure!  I'm also surprised that Eagle hasn't gotten back to you.  Then again.  Awesome news with the girls!  Your family must be busting their buttons!

Just another day in paradise here, at work.  It was a full moon last night, oh boy howdy were people acting it out!  Energy was frenetic, last night.

Anyone else have trouble sleeping the last two nights?  Many of us had light nights.

A salad for me,  please.  Light is good.  Later!

Yes, Karentia, we are being pummeled by high energy lately! Hoping things settle soon.

I'm sorry Weesa, didn't know that word wasn't allowed.

I hope Hecate can come home soon.

Took my uncle Jack to lunch last week, he ended up choosing Pasta House and was raving about a chicken liver linguine. I tasted his (I ordered cannelloni) let me just say, it was nasty. I love fried chicken livers, but this was just gross.

I'll have to take some pics of my garden this year and post them. I found the ants were farming aphids on my catnip again this year, so I powdered them all with diatamaceous earth and that seems to have run most of them off.

Still catching up here. I have to go make some popcorn for the kids, it's Svenghoulie time.

Good evening all,

Just got caught up on the reading and need to get more rest. Nothing good or funny to report this time through my stay at the MacNeal Hotel. more conflict than I wanted from the INS. Co. Will explain it all later when I' up to it. Had very good nursing care but tangled with the social worker big time. Thank you all for all of the good energies that everyone sent.

Sending healing thoughts to MissyPotter for her and her hubby and for Magical Music Dreamer too.

Be back soon.

Blessings for the healing that we all need to make our selves well! Hecate3fold!

Re: Hog's Head

Post  shrivelfig on Sun Jun 11, 2017 10:39 pm

Been busy this past week or two.

Don't remember if I talked about how my BiL went out every day for 3 days coming home very early in the morning. On the 4th day, he came home late morning because the friends he was visiting insisted he spend the night did try to go home. If he was that tired, that was the best thing to do then have him get into another car wreck but he didn't let either of us know. We're not really sure what he was doing but we think it was trying to help a friend who lives outside the city where we can't get in touch with him. He needs a new phone which may be part of the problem. He also has this need to be a knight in shining armor for some friend but getting him to do anything around the house is like pulling teeth. My sister thinks part of it is his mom would use chores as punishment.

We're not sure if he remembers everything our not. We found out later he hadn't slept for 3 days. And that can cause an episode.

There's some woman who said that if he helps sell her stuff on ebay that he'll get to keep 25%. Part of the problem if he's not bringing in any money since he's not on SSI yet so he's always looking for little ways to make money. His mom used to sale stuff on ebay but you have to pay to be a seller and we just don't have the money.

He got caught in an online scam which said something was $4.25 to ship. But then we started getting these $85 charges from the company. My sister called and got it cancelled finally.

My sister likes to do what's called a pick-me-up where she just buys you something little to cheer you up if you've been heaving a hard time. So we went out one day while he was sleeping, left no note and ran some errands. Went to Winn-Dixie and the very, nice flower lady helped us pick a rose for him and some roses, lilies and baby's breath for us so we could make the arrangements at home and save some money. When we got home, he thought my sister was mad at him, going to through his clothes in a duffell, and kick him out. (His ex-wife did that a few times and dropped him off at his parent's house Mad ) My sister had to console hinm that she would never do that and he started to tear up when she gave him the rose. We don't think many people have just given him nice things without wanting something in return. It seems to have help bring him out of this episode he's been having. Smile

Been watching the Tony's tonight but wanted to give everyone an update.

Hecate, so glad you are home, and can patiently wait for your rest period.  I know you don't sleep well at that particular hotel.  Glad you are not in the horrible pain anymore, continued healing thoughts!

Shrivlefig, complex situation, for sure.  Glad she could help bring him out of it with the rose, very sweet.

Still on the last leg of my current adventure... preparing for the return journey. Will write it up once home later today but no time now plus poor WiFi at the moment. It has been a joy and a delight... and yes, a brilliant time seeing Peter Davison again! Catch you later...Have a healthy, healing, wondrous day (and a welcome back to Hecate!)

P.S. added...

I'm home again, tired but very happy...

(If everyone looks tired in this pic, it was taken AFTER the VIP Reception on Friday, which was fun but went on till midnight!)

Will write up more tomorrow when rested a bit. Now off to get some dinner with fond memories dancing in my head! Ask me... just ask me... if Peter remembered me!

Lakeside Cottage, Paijanne, Lakeland, Finland. Photo by Keijo Penttinen.

Good morning. Dobby, make it a very tall coffee, and an egg with sliced avocado, please.

Hecate... Glad you're back, but sure hope the problem can be resolved pronto!

Muggleborn... Your garden looks very happy!

Here's bit of a write up on last weekend's trip... btw, this will not be going on facebook, but just here among a few friends.

Still catching up from my trip. That first red-eye jaunt was rougher than I'd thought... somehow I thought I could catch some sleep on the plane (about a 5 hour flight followed by a 1 hour hopper flight), but I may have ended up with an hour or so in 5 or 10 minute pieces. Then I had thought I could take a nap once I finally got to the hotel... but no, too much adrenaline! The VIP reception (yes, I got the VIP package which was very well worth it) started at 6:30 pm with the con guests arriving at 7:30. It ran till midnight so it was a very long day! Honestly, yes, worth every bit of it.

The guests were brought in one at a time so each could say a few words, followed with them forming for a group pic by the con photographer (the rest of us were not allowed to take photos). Peter was scanning the crowd, then spotted me, and smiled. He silently mouthed the words "You made it!" and gave me a tiny, very subtle wave, which he repeated when they were escorted off the stage.

The reception was set up like "speed dating". The con vips were seated at round tables for 10, each with an empty spot. The four guests would sit in the open spot (one per table), and everyone would have 10 minutes to chat. Then at a signal, each moved to the next table. It actually worked well, giving everyone a real chance to meet and talk to the celebs. BUT they should have started the thing earlier. I don't think anyone really figured how long it would take!

Okay, so Peter finally arrived at our table, and stood behind my chair (I was next to the empty spot having been sent there by 2 con folks who knew how far I'd come!). He rested his hands on my shoulders, then suddenly stooped and gave me a big kiss on the cheek. Then he announced to the other (stunned) folks at the table, "We have a history." That was not only a totally surprising major day brightener (wow) but the great start of an awesomely fun weekend.

The rapport with Peter just got better with plenty of short chat times, plus the con was small and friendly with lots of similarly minded (and mostly very nice) people to talk to. Hated to have it come to an end, but the goodbye was nice. I had gone into the autograph room to bid Peter a good trip home. We had time for a nice chat since things were wrapping down with few people left. I was leaving, but stopped to say goodbye to some con folks I had met, when Peter, who'd been sitting behind his table, suddenly bounded up, and raced around the end of the table, saying "I have to say goodbye". So he gave me a big bear hug and a farewell kiss on the cheek, plus a few more good bye words.

*sigh* Now it's back to feeding the cat, cleaning the litter box, and dumping the trash... But with a whole lot of lovely new memories!

Here's to a healthy, healing, brimming with joy kind of day...

Wow, Always!  You have a fan!  What an awesome reception by Peter!  You go, girl!  Yes, the long flights are exhausting, and wow, all the way to midnight?  Phew!  Where was your pumpkin at the end of the night?  Very happy for you!  Glad you made it back home in one piece as well.

I've been in cleaning mode.  Put a chunk of bins & such in my car to go to storage this morning.  Have a couple more to pull out before I head out.  My room does feel a bit lighter, and I have room to move in my living room!  Yay!

I loaned my friend Suzanne that ottoman and corner couch?  She was given a couch and loveseat!  I told her to rehome the pieces, I don't have room for them, and seriously don't know when I will move again, no reason to hang onto them.

Amazing how 20 minutes in the pool resets me.  I just kept doing things last night.  I have a small project I can work on in the evenings, pulled that out to work on.  It will be nice to get going on some of my small, side projects and get them out of my house!  More room after the creating is done!

Healing thoughts for Hecate and MMD, always going your way!

Weesa glad your kiddos are doing so well!  Congrats!

Maxie, I saw we both were online last night, when we should have been sleeping!  Hope you finally got some sleep.

Hecate, not sure if you noticed, the new season of Face Off started last night!  Different way to do it this time - made into 2 teams, that form their own workshop - and one is chosen as a manager for the team each week.  They did three werewolves for 6 team members, 2 per were.  And they brought in 3 wolves at the beginning to have for resource information!  So huggable!

Ok, breakfast is calling, yes Dobby, you have it perfect, cantaloup  and watermelon!

Cottage in Westcott, Surrey, England. Photo by Panoramio.

Good morning. Dobby, I'll have a very tall coffee, plus a bagel with cream cheese and bacon, please.

MMD & Karentia... Yes, it was a totally fun (and certainly surprising) weekend. The event was Con Kasterborous, a fairly small Doctor Who convention held in Huntsville, Alabama. Small conventions are certainly the most enjoyable for me... you actually get time to talk to people and get to know them. Peter's warmth over the whole weekend felt like we were old friends reuniting... and somehow it seems we are (even if the linear earth time hasn't been all that long). There's a joyful rapport that's just there.

Here's to a healthy, healing, happy day for all...

Have an even healthier, healing, joy imbued day...

Post  MJS on Fri Jun 16, 2017 11:57 am

Good morning! Always The mountain cottage is just what is needed! We are heading into a string of triple digit days here. Well. We knew what we were into when we moved here. Shocked I've been getting up extra early to water the plants and so far they seem to be ok. I moved everything closer or under the covered patio to protect them from the full afternoon sun. That seems to have helped the roses in particular. My neighbors have told me that keeping plants alive in June is the biggest challenge here in the desert. I can see why. On a positive note the citrus trees are doing very well. The lemons are growing as are the mandarin oranges and the limequat tree is getting new blooms and fruit as well. Oh, and the sago palm has a lot of new growth coming up in the middle of it. We didn't know that was how they grow. Really fun to watch. They have shot up almost 5 inches this week alone!
Bob and I finally committed to renting a cottage in Sept. in SW Colorado up in the mountains. Really looking forward to it. Found one that is lakeside and, even more important, allows dogs! We both love the mountains and the water so this will be quite a nice treat.
We sold the park model last week. I honestly thought we wouldn't be able to sell it until this fall when the snowbirds come back. I put a for sale sign up in the window and we had a dozen calls, which surprised us. The gentleman is 90! He is moving here from up state NY. He wanted to get his wife into better care and he says the facilities here for memory care are much better than where they lived. His son also relocated here to be closer to his folks and help out. I have to say Dewy (the gentleman's name) has it altogether. He took one walk through of the park model and said to me "Well I like it! I could lie and tell you I don't, but I don't lie and I like it!" He wrote a check the next day and he and Bob did all the paper work and that was that. We are going to go in halves on repairing the duct work under it for the AC/Heat, because we were afraid it was going to be an issue, and looks like it is. He is such a nice man and I am so glad he likes it. And it is nice to have that off our plates.
I suppose I should get something accomplished today. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Alpine Cabin, Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland. Photo by Marina Koslow/Entouriste.

Good morning. Dobby, I'd like some yogurt with blueberries, a bit of bacon, and a tall iced coffee, please. The mountain scenery deck works for me even though it won't be quite as warm here as for some of the others, like MMD and MJS!

MJS... Congrats on the house sale! Good luck with the high temps. I grew up in Arizona, and unless you live in the northern part of the state (Flagstaff, Sedona, Prescott etc), high temps are part of the package. I moved!

I'm beginning to recover from the trip. Suitcase unpacked. Laundry done. Catching up on lost sleep getting there... would be a tad easier without a furry someone wanting breakfast at 3am.  cat Plus have managed a few other "need to be dones". Next week have to get started on paperwork to renew guardianship for brother John. It's not due till July but takes a while to get the info together. All in all I'd much rather be bantering with Peter!

Here's to a healthy, healing, joyful day...

Good morning from another toasty area.
We're scheduled for triple digits this weekend,so we're going into the city tomorrow where it should be cooler.

Your trip sounded amazing, Always. Imagine the curiosity of the others!
PD seems a very gracious, engaging man.

Magical Music Dreamer, I imagine the sounds and syntax is so foreign from English it's hard to perfect. I can only read a little Irish and it would not get me far. But, you get to interact with others.

I'm having a great time with my brother. We haven't done much but there's been pool time daily (burnt to a crisp) and a fun visit to a farmer's market.. The main access road to Yosemite is blocked by a rock slide, so no side trip.
A huge hummingbird visits a fuchsia plant on the deck outside my bedroom. A 6 a.m. sharp, a half dozen blue jays hop in the hillside behind us. Hop...never seen anything like it. Oh, how they screech! And by the pool, there's a wonderful crow who jabbers gossip daily. Probably warnings about Sun exposure but I didn't listen.

Good food, much laughter, but a lot of talking ...over tv,movies, each other,me.   Not used to that. But, I'm thoroughly enjoying my stay.
Will be here until Wednesday evening.

I hope things have settled for your family, shrivelfig.
Hope you're feeling better, Hecate.

I saw you sold your place, MJS , how lucky is that! And to an upstater..wonder where. Upstate N.Y. means different things, depending on location. Sounds spry for 90!

samtibbs, I've seen the neatest wildflowers used in landscaping. They seem to tolerate the long dry spells better than nursery plants. A wet Spring had them really popping!
And, Karentia, there's a Spanish lavender that is quite pleasant to smell.
No dusty old lady whiffs at all. And along with the Russian sage , make for a lot of pretty purples by the pool.

Guess it's time to get up. I've been awake since daybreak but the boys don't make  appearances until midday. Scott's a night owl and Garry's on the third floor in his private castle. Nice we all have our respective hidey holes. And, Baxter, the Boston terrier, makes himself comfortable everywhere.I

Hope you all have an enjoyable weekend.

Sounds like a wonderful visit, Maxie!  So nice to visit your brother, and have an adventure!  Give the pup scritches from me.  Enjoy the pool, too!

Just got back from Joyce's memorial.  I didn't read the email all the way down, and didn't go to the right place at first - sat on their porch for almost half an hour - no one answered texts or phone calls.  Check all emails - part I never saw, having the memorial at X location.  Well -----.  Check my Google maps, it's about 2 miles away on the same road.  Pop over the hill, and memorial service is under way.  Slip into the back.  In time to wrap up, grab a program, and now we all head back to the house for lunch.  It was unfortunate, but still nice to see everyone.  And Joyce, her ashes are in their Little Red Riding Hood cookie jar!  So sweet and funny, but why not?  So, now I'm home, getting comfy with a project to hand stitch in front of the tv for the night.

MMD glad you liked the ferry video!  It was a wild ride!  I've been reading various articles about Cherokee, that they are the largest tribe currently, that they originated from the Mediterranean?  And a few other things.  I take it all with a grain of salt.

MJS congrats on the sale!  That is fabulous not to have to sit on it for months!  Good idea to move the planters under the cover, and yes, am watering schedule!  They should make it!  Heck, if things aren't leaking all over, bring a few inside, where they can still get light from a window.  Enjoy!

Hugs to all!

Karentia, it's very complex when you're living with 2 bi-polar people. His is worse then my sister's and had some bad things happen to him so in a way he just expects bad things to happen. It's funny how a little thing like a rose can snap him out of an episode. He's been doing better. He slept a lot yesterday which is good since he can go days without sleep. We need to make another appointment to see the psychiatrist.

Always, Isn't it amazing when a celebrity remembers you and is happy to see you. Some of them are very humble and know that they wouldn't be in the situation they are in without the fans. I never heard of or seen a photo of Alan hugging a fan; he came across as a bit shy actually. My sister still says that the photo of us is one of the best candid photos she's ever seen. That was in the days before smart phones and he asked if the photo was ok or did we need to take another one. We definitely got the feeling that he didn't spend that much time with the average fan.

Did I tell ya'll how their was a fire at our apartments over Memorial week-end? Across from the apartment we live in and the street is where they dump all the furniture like mattresses, sofas, chairs, etc.. that people throw away. It's also right next to a shed. My sister and I were walking the dogs at night when the pile of furniture was on fire! Shocked The flame was pretty high and was just hitting some branches that were overhanging. Some people leaving in a car stopped to talk to us and said they were going to call the fire department. By the time we finished walking the dogs, two fire trucks were there and putting out the fire. I ran inside to get my phone but by the time I got back outside, the fire was doused. They also opened up the shed that was right next to it. Luckily, it was empty. I did get a photo of the firetruck and the burnt debris the next morning.

Went to a funeral today. My mom was head of reference at a library (later my sister worked at the same library but in a different department and I did an internship there) and one of the people she supervised who sat at the reference desk past away. For the last three years I believe he's had Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. He was very smart, a great reference librarian and even published a book on song references. He was very quiet but everybody loved him. I've known him since I was little and taken to the library for various reasons. He even made this candy every year which become affectionately known as "Gary Candy". Smile

The service was very nice. They had multi-media display that showed a stream with photos of him appearing and disappearing to different songs. I've never seen one done that way before. It was always nice to see people from the library who I've known or heard about for years.

Good evening to all,

Sorry but this has to be quick again. I'm still in a lot of pain but nothing I can't handle at home. Got a letter from the INS. co. saying that they weren't going to pay for any part of my hospital stay because all of the tests I had done could be done at an out patient clinic. Evidently they did't read the part about me being handicapped.

Sorry, I can't type anymore.

Blessings! Hecate3fold!

Hywel-Sele Lodge, Dolgellau, Snowdonia, Wales. Photo by PR.

Good morning. Dobby, I'll have a tall iced vanilla coffee, and some crusty bread with Irish butter and orange marmalade, please.

Love this castle-ish holiday cottage. Just about perfect, I think!

Hecate... glad to see you back here, but surely wish the health situation wasn't so intense. Hope you can get things smoothed out, both on physical and insurance levels.

Shrivelfig... fires are no fun and are quite indiscriminate as to what they destroy. My across-the-street neighbors just lost their double garage on another property they have, including two boats stored there and a lot of collectibles which had belonged to the hubby's late brother. A charger on an electric drill exploded, setting the wall on fire, and with all the paint cans and other flammable stuff stored there, the place was like a bomb had gone off inside it.

Karentia... sad occasion but sounds like it turned into an interesting little adventure. Glad you did find the right location eventually.

Maxe... glad you're having a great time with your brother! You have been way overdue for a "mini-vacation".

Here's to a healthy, healing, good news filled kind of day...

Oh dear, Hecate, your insurance trolls are not getting the whole picture, are they?  Not like you can just pop down to the corner walk in clinic and do these, is it?   Rolling Eyes  MadI love you.  Hope you can get it through their thick skulls that is impossible for you.

I'm requesting a person be added to the healing thoughts chain - my cousin Doug.  He is 6 years older than me (60?), has bladder cancer.  They are going aggressive with his treatment plan, should remove his bladder by August, and hope to build a new one out of other tissue.  He had a 9 hour treatment on Friday, his first one.  That just sunk in, he is 60.  Wow.  Looks like no older than 45.  Wow.  I appreciate any added prayers his way.

Hugs to all.
