My Oops day
Oh my, yesterday was something I will look back and laugh at. My adventure started with not knowing what to do in the park, so just sat on a couple of walls, bought some treats (which are still uneaten), took a few more pictures, and had lunch. Then the 'magic' of going home began.
Waiting for my Shuttle, didn't recharge my phone all the way? Because I didn't want to miss the bus. Wait, its past the time, where is my bus? Call number on the paper - no, so sorry, not riding with us, it was cancelled when you cancelled your ride from Disney. ?!?!? Panic. Chat with a Bell boy I've been talking to, he noticed I was early, he waved over one of the chauffeurs who are available - an SUV. Pop in, ride 20+ minutes to the airport, as I am paying, he gets my bags out, he leaves - he has dropped me at the wrong end of the terminal - @+%6%9!3:*. Huff and puff my way to the other end - bright side is only paying to check one bag, the other one I volunteered to check (if it fits in the overhead, you can volunteer not to) for free. Now back track a bit to security - smooth sailing through. Grab some water & Cheetos & a coke, on to the gate. No outlets available to charge the phone, all busy. Load plane, I'm in a window seat, lucky it is 2 skinny men. I am locked into the spot, because I am me, will not inconvenience someone so I can pee. Dumb. Finally - smooth landing 6+ hours later! And we have to wait for another plane to move so we can get to our gate - which we did getting out of the other end too.
Get up finally and can barely move. Have to pee so bad I just keep going. Get out and everyone else is happy to walk around me. Fine. I'm always the back of the pack. By the time I get to the baggage claim, after the bathroom, I read it wrong board, trudge from #14 down to #2, stopping to buy a salad on the way. Wrong claim area, wrong airlines. Where? Trudge back, back, back, find out is was claim #15. Really? Get there, no one there, no bags. Find a worker, he said the rest is with the customer service desk, at #13. Go over, claim bags, trudge back to 00, past #2, straight out to the shuttle. I had bought a cup of ice, so immediately as I sit down, I think it's an awesome time to open my Coke! Shower. Nope. At least I carry extra napkins, and so did a lovely young lady who handed me a bunch. I needed to take some ibus, and my last Tylenol, so after mopping up, scarfed down half a nut granola bar with the bit of coke I saved, and the bar falls to the floor. Wrap it up & stuff in my bag. Chilly outside, but dry!
Nope, sprinkling. Get closer, nope, raining. Had texted a co-worker, had asked him two weeks ago if he could please pick me up. Get to the Burlington drop off, no Dave, no cabs hanging around, phone died. It was sprinkling. I thought, 'how hard could it be? The walking will be easy compared to this week. I'm in shorts, slip on shoes, knee socks, my new fleece Hogwarts jacket, and a T-shirt. I start towing my bags, trudging along. I stop every little bit, it is harder than I thought. Almost there, it starts pouring. Oh joy. Round the corner to start heading down our lane, and thank goodness it lets up. Drop the luggage at the North gate, continue with my keys, much quicker! Unlock & open the gate, grab the car, toss my soaking wet jacket in the back, lock the gate. Grab my luggage, and turn the fan & heater on high. Takes a few more minutes to heat up, but 20 minutes to get home! Yay!
Took me an hour to walk it. Next time, will make concrete arrangements, charge phone, do it better. I only unpacked my carry on last night, everything else is still in the luggage - it is drying out by my fireplace - and the house was cold - it has been in the 40's, so a couple extra blankets, and a sweatshirt to sleep in, decent night's sleep.
Yup, sore. I'll get over it. Now to find some breakfast, unpack, and think about laundry - and get rid of the milk.... Ew.
And somehow hit the wrong button to create a lovely post, in the wrong place!

Re: My Oops day
The moon has been in Aries for a few days. Often hard to deal with. Tomorrow it is going into Taurus; more mellow. glad you have today to relax. Traveling is tiring, and yours was worse. I loved sharing your trip! Thanks so much!

Re: My Oops day
Thank you Magical Music Dreamer. I always love hearing about how the moon phases effect things, especially while living them! I also figure Monkey was coming around and announcing himself!
The trip was great, one for learning from on dos & don'ts for next time. Yup, the last day was a doozy, and I find I am more sore than I expected. Basically resting today away. I might go over to the club for the hot tub, or might not bother getting dressed. I just have to organize my pile of souvenirs, tag who they go to, and all that. I can wait to do laundry till Tuesday - I have enough clothing now, since the stuff I took was mostly new, or summer wear. Better ways to finish vacation, like watching movies!

Re: My Oops day
Good idea. You can use some low key unwinding days.
