another oldie
'Bad Time' by Grand Funk Railroad. One of their lesser known songs. I heard this several years back and loved it and had no idea who it was. A few months later I heard it again and remembered enough to look it up.

Cool idea Greatheart. Will have to think about it and get back to post later, sadly my brain is to tired this evening to process much thought.

Re: Song Share
Sadly I am not a Buffet fan. I think the incessant playing of one of his albums by an ex ruined any enjoyment of his songs.
I like this song by Conway Twitty he sings it here with his daughter.

trick
Here's a trick question - can two young women from Sweden play and sing American 'country' style music?

"First Aid Kit" say "Oh yes!"
I'll be your Emmylou
and I'll be your June
You'll be my Gram
And my Johnny too

And as long as we're talking Emmylou and Gram, here's a song she wrote to him after his passing -

Re: Song Share
Don't think it matters where you come from as long as the music is from the heart. Love classic country not a big fan of a lot of what they call country these days, sounds more like pop to me. Same goes for rock I prefer to hear mostly songs from the 80's and before over what is played on most stations today.
In my opinion this is the best country song ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1R2F9f2Cl6Y

Good tune!
You're right, most 'country' today is just pop music with a pedal steel guitar and a nasal voice. ;-)
I'm actually impressed with some of the new young artists doing 'classic soul' - John Legend comes to mind

Not a fan of Mr. Legend. I do love Adele though her voice is something special indeed. This in particular really hits home for me.

Re: Song Share
Just recently discovered this song, Vince Gill doing "Pretty Little Adriane". You could label Gill as a 'country' artist but this tune sounds like it could have been written by the Allman Brothers

There's also a cool video of Gill playing the late Duane Allman's guitar, doing this tune.

Duane Allman was good friends with another great guitar player, Eric Clapton. Together they recorded this classic tune -

And speaking of Clapton, this is a great live version of his 'turn around' song - "Tears In Heaven"

A forgotten oldie
Hypnotize, from Kingfish, a band that starred Grateful Dead member Bob Weir. Some tasty guitar licks
