Bones is currently my favortie show on television. Can't wait for the new season to start in November. Anyone else watch? If not I suggest you start, it's way better than any CSI or other crime show.

I love the TV show, enjoy the books somewhat, although they are two very different creatures, to be sure.

I'm pretty sure that last season's ending was a shark-jump.

Which is a shame.

I do agree, though, folks should watch ... netflix has a lot of episodes available on watch instantly.

Not my kind of book, but I did look them up and after reading a description I doubt I'll ever read them. Too completely different than the show.
Not sure what you mean by shark-jump, haven't heard the phrase before. I would have liked to see a bit more of the story but I can't wait to see how that particular episode changes things in the coming season.

Jumping the shark is a point in a television series' life in which something occurs that is so completely absurd, often violating a basic premise of the show, that it's all downhill from there. It comes from an episode of Happy Days in which Fonzie jumps over a shark in a (not terribly) death defying stunt.

Moonlighting jumped the shark when Maddie and David jumped each other.

Arguably, Bones could have jumped the shark in the Gormagon arc, particularly the concluding one, but there were a number of decent episodes subsequent to that.

Thanks for explanation. I have seen Happy Days but don't remember that episode.

I think they could have handled things better in regards to how the relationship progressed. I read that they did't think it was necessary because fans had waited long enough and would understand.

Just prior to the season opener I read a long interview with the writer/producer who said there had been a lot of discussion about how to get the two characters together while avoiding the Moonlighting Curse.Apparently not only did the producers want to please the fans but the network wanted to keep the dynamic healthy as well.
They were still struggling with scenarios when Emily Duchanel announced her pregnancy. So now they've different ways of developing the characters as a new couple, new parents,Booth the experience father and Temperance as the emotionally and now hormonally challenged genius.Hope it works. I love the show and now even my husband likes it enough to pass on Person of Interest which airs on another network.

Hope it works out..the writer said there will not be that coming together, break up,make up stuff that is so annoying. He's confident they can come up with interesting plots that honor the history of the characters and not insult the audience. Fingers crossed. It's a tall order.

With out a question Bones is one of the best tv shows ever, I love how Temperance and Booth deal with her experiencing all the joys of being pregnant, poor Angela trying to get her to be less independent and more dependent on Booth, what the rest of us take for granted Bones can't fathom, it is excellent casting to say the least. My all time favorite!

Weesa the books are well written, and they do still refer to Temperance but don't have the rest of the gang.

What do you think of their newest squint??

I'm a huge Bones fan but I had read some of the books before I watched the show. I like the tv series better for interpersonal action but the books are good.
I love her real pregnancy. All Angela had was a baby belly and no weight gain in her arms. Temperance is baby weight all over like a real woman. I love it.
The revolving cast of squints is one of my favorite parts of the show. I cried when Vincent died.
Unfortunately the old shows are run right around the time we're eating dinner and some of the graphics are pretty rough.Informative though.

Wonder how much longer they'll be able to continue with good stories and great relationships?

I love the revolving squinterns too. The newest member is funny when interacting with Hodgins but I'm undecided yet on him being a permanent fixture of the show. I cried when Vincent died too, I really liked the part where they sing Lime in the Coconut though, thought that was a nice touch. I read a rumor that they may bring Zack back to show but I'm not sure
if that's such a good idea.

They way they are dealing with the pregnancy is terrific. I like the way Angela helps her to see things too.
Can't wait to see the next episode.

Michaela Conlin wasn't really pregnant, I guess it's hard to make someone to look proportionally
correct for pregnancy. Emily Deschanel is really pregnant though so we get the accurate look.

Yeah Bones during dinner is a bit graphic although it isn't much worse than the news which is
what we have on during dinner scratch

See that's why decided not to read the books I love the interaction of all the characters on the show and couldn't believe
they weren't actually in the books, other than Temperance.

No, the books are so different from the dynamic in the tv show,if you love Seely and the other personnel at the Jeffersonian you'll feel cheated by the books.

I knew Michele wasn't really pregnant though they tried hard to make her ungainly. She is a wonderful foil for Temperance's rationality...and it's funny how her hormones are messing with her responses..crying at a crime scene.. I found that hysterical. With Larry home in the evenings,he's catching up with the old episodes. He doesn't enjoy watching them several times whereas I like certain episodes I get excited to see them on the schedule.
As for Zack, I think they left the door open for him to return from the psychiatric hospital..and we know that he's innocent of killing anyone when under the influence of Gormagon. I'd love to see him return even as a guest squint.

I enjoy watching certain episodes over again too. Yeah Angela is the perfect foil for Temperence. I really think everyone should have a best friend like that.
Crying at the crime scene was hilarious, Booth's comment about not surviving the pregnancy tickled me too. I do have to say I've seen pregnant women who may have had him eating that phone for taking such pictures though. lol!
I wouldn't mind Zack as a guest appearance, just don't think he should be brought full time. They should give him a job running his own lab somewhere and have him assist the team on a case by letting them us his lab.

New Bones will be on Monday at 8pm. Can't wait to see how they deal with the fallout from last season's finale.

On a side note for those who watched The Finder, it was cancelled. Crying or Very sad Seems there weren't enough ratings to keep it.

Glad to see Bones back..like you,I'm curious how they resolve things.

I was disappointed when I learned The Finder was cancelled and then, look,Michael Clark Duncan died,so it might have been cancelled even with better ratings.

But some hideous reality shows still go on and on. Crying or Very sad

Yeah it wouldn't have been the same without him, just can't imagine Walter without Leo and don't like recasts most of the time.

"Reality" tv is out of control in my opinion. I think it's time for it to go away and make room for better programming.

Not sure how Bones will go this season, I've seen rumors that it is the last season so if it is I hope they end it well without any loose ends.

My son and I are watching all the old bones on Netflix and I am watching this year's as they come open on hulu, hope they don't really end the series it is one of my all time favorites, listened to an interview with Kathy Reich on the radio the other day she says the way Emily portrays her is very much how she was when she was young, and that she would have given anything for a team as tight as the one on the show! She is the director (or one of) for the show and loves how it all fits together!

I saw an interview posted on Facebook this past week with Emily and David and there was no hint of an ending season. Emily was hinting at a Bones/Booth wedding and David was denying it...she laughed and said it was the opposite of their characters.

I'm glad to see some glimpses of a nice home life between them. I was afraid with the arrival of the baby before there was really a romance their eventual relationship might be blurred into work and parenthood. But, they seem to enjoy each other's company while maintaining their own personalities.
